Calçots

Calçot is a type of scallion eaten at a calçotada – a gastronomical celebration held in Catalonia – where food is eaten roasted preferably. The first layers are peeled off and then calçots are spread on bread and eaten with romesco sauce.

They have the same properties as onions, that is, high content of vitamins and minerals.
